FACULTY OF ENGINEERINGPFG and PFM awards

The Basque Government’s Public Environmental Management Agency, Ihobe, and the University of Deusto invite entries for the Ecodesign and Circular Economy Award, aimed at Undergraduate Final Year Projects (PFG) and Master’s Dissertations (PFM). The award seeks to promote and recognise the value of these projects carried out within the university context and their contribution to the Circular Economy across the Basque Country.

The awards will be divided into two categories:

• Best Undergraduate Final Year Project Award: Only Undergraduate Final Year Projects may be submitted in this category. The award carries a prize of €1,000, from which legally required withholdings will be deducted. 
• Best Master’s Dissertation Award: Only Master’s Dissertations may be submitted in this category. The award carries a prize of €1,000, from which legally required withholdings will be deducted.

Awards may be declared void if no entries are received or if none of the submitted entries achieve at least 60% of the maximum score.

Applications must be submitted by 15/09/2026.

The information to be submitted will include:

• A participation form with personal details and information about the project.
• For the evaluation of Undergraduate Final Year Projects and Master’s Dissertations, an executive summary must be provided, addressing each of the evaluation criteria (except for Work Quality) in no more than half a page per criterion. 
• The executive summary must not exceed three pages and should be submitted in PDF format. The full content of the undergraduate final year projects or Master’s dissertations will only be reviewed in case of doubt.
• A copy of the undergraduate final year project or Master’s dissertation to be submitted in PDF format.
• Transcript of grades showing the mark for the undergraduate final year project or Master’s dissertation.

If the submission does not comply with the requirements outlined above, the organisers reserve the right to reject it, without the possibility of corrections. Any work submitted after the deadline will be automatically rejected.

If submission is accepted, the participant will be notified and issued with the relevant acknowledgement of receipt. 

Participation in this award is compatible with entry to other awards. 

The first prize is worth €1,200 euros and the second €600 for the authors of the awarded Undergraduate Final Year Project or Master’s Dissertation.

All undergraduate final year projects and Master’s dissertations in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or Industrial Engineering combined with Computer Science, registered in the 2024–25 academic year, are eligible. Submissions must address topics related to “digital transformation” and “disruptive technologies”, such as blockchain, computer vision, or conversational AI.

The competition is open to students who have submitted and passed their Undergraduate Final Year Project or Master’s Dissertation at the University of Deusto between 1 January 2025 and 31 September 2025, and who were enrolled in the 2024/2025 academic year in any of the degree programmes offered by the Faculty of Engineering at the University.

The award decision will be made in two stages. First, Inetum will select five finalists. These finalists will present their work to a panel of experts appointed by the company. The panel will determine which projects are awarded first and second prize.

• Start date of the competition: 18 June
• Registration deadline: 19 September 
• Announcement of the five finalists: 20 October
• Finalists’ presentations: one week after the announcement of the five finalists.
• Announcement of the winners: 21 November

• Degree programme in which the Undergraduate Final Year Project / Master’s Dissertation was completed

AECOC, the Association that brings together 29,000 FMCG companies, will be holding the AECOC Academic Awards, with a prize of €20,000 divided into 4 categories and with job opportunities.

Academic Awards

The AECOC Academic Awards distinguish the final year and master's degree academic projects that best develop measures that enable FMCG companies to be more competitive in the following categories:

• Marketing and Commercialisation
• Supply Chain
• Applied technology
• PepsiCo Sustainability

In each category, a first prize of 4,000€ (3,000€ for the author and 1,000€ for the tutor) will be awarded. And a runner-up prize of 1,000 euros for the author. Job opportunities for university students at Nestlé and Carrefour.

NESTLÉ SPECIAL AWARD

A 6-month paid internship programme adapted to the student selected among the candidates for the AECOC Academic Awards.

CARREFOUR SPECIAL AWARD

An employment contract for the student selected among the candidates for the AECOC Academic Awards.

• Students in their final year of any Spanish Bachelor's or Master's degree, through a lecturer who acts as a tutor for the project.
• All bachelor's and master's theses submitted between 24 September 2023 and 30 September 2024 will be eligible for the Academic Awards 2024. The organization will publish the winning works in the last fortnight of February 2025. The date may be modified for reasons beyond the Organizer's control.
• Projects may be submitted in any format. As a guideline, the maximum length of written work will be 30 pages (excluding annexes).
• The maximum number of authors for each candidate paper is 5 university students.
• The winning projects will be published in the AECOC Virtual Classroom, with recognition among the AECOC Academic Community.

"Bizintek 2024 Awards for Undergraduate, Master's or Postgraduate Final Projects,the most promising technological competition: a call open to all students in the different branches, specialities or degrees of Engineering, Technology and Electronics.

Bizintek is once again running this initiative aimed at supporting future generations of engineers and giving visibility to innovative projects for Industry 4.0. 

Bizintek will award three prizes for "Undergraduate, Master's or Postgraduate Final Projects". The projects will compete for a first prize of €600. Bizintek will publish the winning projects on its communication channels to give visibility to the winners.

CEDINOX, Association for the Development and Research of Stainless Steel, announces the fourth ACERINOX Awards for university students who carry out the Final Project for their undergraduate degree, Master’s degree or study programme related to stainless steels, either on their use, research or development, in order to promote knowledge about their applications among young architects and engineers at national level.

Since 2018, the Caixa d'Enginyers has awarded 2 Bachelor's and Master's Degree Final Projects annually. The prizes are worth 1000 euros and are awarded by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering together with the authorities of the Caixa d'Enginyers in a private ceremony.
