Would you like to support children in one of the most important stages of their development? Throughout this degree, you will learn how to guide and support students aged 6 to 12, assisting them in their personal, academic, and social growth. You will be trained to develop a critical, creative, and innovative mindset, learning about human nature, how society evolves, and how knowledge is organised, in order to anticipate current and future educational needs.
We believe that schools are drivers of social change and are committed to training professionals who share this vision. Throughout your studies, you will learn how learning and care work, while also developing the skills needed to manage groups and guide pupils both personally and academically.
You will have a tutor throughout your studies, who will provide personalised support, ongoing guidance, and individual follow-up. This guidance will help you address any questions, optimise your learning process, and enhance your teaching skills, ensuring your success in the degree.
The degree is mainly taught in Basque. Completing at least 60% of the credits in this language allows you to obtain the C1 profile recognised by the Basque Government. In addition, pathways in English are also available: you can choose the specialisation in a Foreign Language: English option, taught entirely in English, or take some subjects in English to gradually improve your language skills.

You will be able to be a tutor and teach general subjects , but you will also leave the degree with a specialisation in one of these four professional areas: Therapeutic Pedagogy (Bilbao), Foreign Language: English (Bilbao), Physical Education (San Sebastian) or Hearing and Speech (San Sebastian).

You will benefit from the teaching and research experience of a pioneering and leading institution in educationstudies andeducational innovationin the Basque Country, with a long tradition in continuous teacher training and in the management of educational establishments.

You will do external internships in 2nd and 4th years. Therefore, when you graduate you will be well acquainted with the professional reality of educational establishments. It is a tutored, personalised programme to help you make the most of your stay at the centre.

Once you have completed your degree, you will also have the option of further specialising in any of the other three specialisations offered at the University of Deusto, which is an ideal way to improve your career prospects. The degree will also open doors to other specialist studies (official master's degrees, PhD programmes).

You will find a close learning environment and personal tutoring from first to fourth year of study. Your tutor will guide you academically, personally and/or professionally. In addition, you will have a teaching team ready to guide you on any issues that may arise throughout your studies.

For this reason, the Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education uses a practical methodology that focuses on your creativity and abilities. You will also have innovative and technologically advanced resources available to help you in your learning process.
