Admission Tests for the 2021-22 academic year

Admission tests will be held remotely so that candidates do not have to travel to the campus.

¿When will admission tests be held?

  • 1st call: 5, 6, 12 and 13 March
  • 2nd call: 14 and 15 May
  • Additional enrolment period: 19 July

Candidates who have to sit the tests will receive an email containing detailed information about the test calls such as date, time and procedure to be followed (instructions, users, passwords, etc.). They will also be called for a pre-connection test to ensure that everyone can connect without problems, a few days before the date of the admission tests.

What will the remote admission tests be like?

The admission tests will be carried out through the ALUD platform of the University of Deusto (based on Moodle) and with the support of a videoconference system

Admission test content

The admission tests to be taken will vary according to the chosen degree:

  • English test with a series of multiple choice questions.
  • Basque language test: test to determine the level of Basque proficiency. *A B2 level in Basque language is required for admission to the programme.
  • An essay (English or Basque): on a specific topic which students have to complete within a set time limit in the language required for each option.
  • Motivation essay on the reasons for choosing to study the Bachelor's Degrees: Philosophy, Politics and Economics or their joint programme (presentation in Spanish) or Medicine (questions that can be answered in Basque or Spanish).

Personal interview: only for the Medicine degree

Candidates who achieve an average mark of 8 in 1st year Baccalaureate studies or between 4th year of ESO and 1st year Baccalaureate studies and pass the admission tests will be called for a personal interview. The aim is to assess the level of mastery of the skills necessary for the proper development of learning throughout their studies.

Which degrees require an admission test?

Deusto Business School: Those who provide proof of having a B2 English level according to the CEFR in their application may be exempted from taking the English language test.

Please note: In order to gain admission to the Data Analytics degree, which is combined with Industrial Technology Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Organisation Engineering and Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering, you must provide proof of having a B2 English level according to the CEFR in your application. Candidates who do not have qualification will have to take the admission test.

What is assessed for admission?

When considering a candidate’s admission, the admissions committee will assess the following aspects:

  • Academic transcript
  • Admission test results, if any
  • Supporting documents submitted
  • Available places on the programme

Please note: The University reserves the right to call candidates for a remote interview after the tests if it deems it necessary.
