the "most beautiful city in the world".

Enjoy San Sebastian

The beauty of its bay, known as the Pearl of the Bay of Biscay, with the sea and the mountains just a stone's throw away; its quality of life and world-renowned gastronomy have made it a first class tourist destination over the last two centuries.

As an expression of Basque culture and its spirit, we must not forget the manifestations of traditional culture such as pilgrimages and popular festivals, Basque sports, traditional folklore, etc. The San Sebastian International Film Festival is a major film event recognised by the International Federation of Film Producers' Associations.

Special mention should be made of the gastronomy in the Basque Country, which is renowned for having set the foundations of culinary tradition. The excellent food and local drinks like 'Txakoli' are a highlight themselves.

The seaside, surfing and “pintxos” in the old city will be part of the spectacular scenery during your university years. There is still much more to discover.
