What are your rights when you provide your personal data to us?

You have the following rights:

  • The right to request access to your personal data.
  • The right to request rectification or deletion of your data.
  • The right to request restriction of processing.
  • The right to object to processing.
  • The right to data portability.
  • The right to withdraw consent given.

Data subjects have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether the University of Deusto is processing personal data concerning them. Data subjects may access their personal data being processed and may request correction of inaccurate data or, where applicable, request deletion when, among other reasons, the data are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected.

If you have given your consent for a specific purpose, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal, or the maintenance or fulfilment of a contractual relationship.

In certain circumstances, data subjects may request the restriction of processing of their data; in such cases, the data will only be stored for the exercise or defence of legal claims.

In certain circumstances, or for reasons related to a specific situation, data subjects may object to the processing of their personal data. In such cases, the University of Deusto will cease processing the data compelling legitimate grounds for the processing or for the exercise or defence of possible claims.

Data subjects have the right to request the portability of their data. This means you can obtain the data you have provided to the University of Deusto in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format (both data provided directly by you and data derived directly from the service provided), or request that the data be transmitted directly from the University of Deusto to another organisation with which you have contracted a service, without the data first being transmitted to you, provided this is technically feasible (compatibility of systems between both organisations).
