Auditorium
The Auditorium at the Bilbao campus hosted a double masterclass on 13 October, delivered by the first two winners of the Teacherpreneur Award: Beatriz Costa and Estíbaliz Benítez.
One of the event’s aims was to raise the profile of teachers with an entrepreneurial mindset in the Basque Country. It was attended by around 150 students from the University of Deusto’s Primary Education degree and the third cycle of Primary Education at St. Patrick’s English School.
Estibaliz Benitez is renowned for her transformative work with pupils with special educational needs, always focusing on equity. For her part, Beatriz Costa’s intrapreneurship initiative focuses on computational thinking, combining technology, creativity and problem-solving. The second edition of the award will be launched shortly, with some new features.
This initiative forms part of the call for proposals for the 2025–2026 Teaching Innovation Projects and has been promoted by Arantza Arruti and Jessica Paños, lecturers at the Faculty of Education and Sport. This year it is also supported by Deusto Entrepreneurship at the University of Deusto.
