DEUSTO and BBK launches BBKSASOIKO: a new space for the promotion of social participation of the elderly

Within the framework of the collaboration agreement between the University of Deusto and BBK, the BBK Foundation presented the new BBKSASOIKO initiative. BBKSASOIKO is an innovative project that has been created as a space for the promotion of the social participation of the elderly.

BBKSASOIKO aims at responding to the demands of retired people, or people who are about to retire, and want to propose, define, develop and implement some type of project related to social participation in a community environment. The initiative has five main objectives:

1. Generate a new model of social participation of the elderly
2. Promote a new vision of ageing and new forms of social participation
3. Value the contribution that the elderly can give to society
4. Generate participatory areas where people with common interests can interact and combine interests, efforts and actions
5. Promote the empowerment of each person, fostering their potential in a way that, on some occasions they are promoters of actions, and on other occasions they are the beneficiaries
