The University of Deusto, through its International Spanish Center, CIDE, offers various Spanish courses in its Bilbao and San Sebastián campuses in two formats, Intensive (45 sessions) or Semester (60 sessions). We aim to offer quality training for the development of communication skills in Spanish. We also organise individualised courses in Spanish as a foreign language and Spanish for specific purposes (Business, Education...) aimed at adult professionals who need effectiveness and personalised attention for specific purposes as well as specific courses for researchers, teachers and R&D professionals with no previous knowledge of Spanish.
CONTENT AND APPROACH
The specific programme integrates the communicative functions of Spanish, the performance of grammatical tasks of observation and reflection, together with language practice activities which will help the student to develop oral and written tasks that are eminently useful for communication.
In the classroom, spaces are encouraged that stimulate intercultural awareness, communication, learning and language acquisition processes.
Language levels: Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced / Superior
These levels are divided into more specific modules according to the different degrees of language proficiency of each group of students, which correspond to the levels of the European Framework of Reference for Languages. (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2)
Attendance, participation, homework, self-evaluation and a final exam will be taken into account when evaluating students.
Transcript and ECTS credits
It is mandatory for all students to take the final exam, and to attend to classes regularly if they wish to obtain an official certification for their language level and credits earned.
