Lorea Romero Gutiérrez is a Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral research fellow, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the University of Deusto (Spain). She is a member of the Deusto Valores Sociales research team at the same faculty. Her research focuses on the sociological and historiographical analysis of gender inequalities, with an emphasis on institutional intervention through the incorporation of a feminist perspective into public policy. Her research work has received several awards, including the Prize for Best Doctoral Thesis in Sociology of Gender (2024) awarded by the Spanish Federation of Sociology. She holds a degree in Sociology (2014) from the University of Salamanca (Spain), and a PhD in Equity and Innovation in Education (2022) from the University of Cantabria (Spain). She has been a visiting scholar at the Freie Universität Berlin (Margherita von Brentano Centre for Gender Studies), the University of Iceland (Gender Studies Programme), the UNTREF in Buenos Aires, and a mobility student at the PUC in Chile. She held a doctoral fellowship at the University of Cantabria and was an affiliated lecturer of Sociology at the Faculty of Education of this institution. She has also been a board member of the Commission for Doctoral Programmes of the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency - AQU Catalunya, with which she continues to collaborate. Since 2025, she has been part of the management team of the Sociology of Gender Committee of the Spanish Federation of Sociology (FES).
