Dr. Peña has authored and co-authored multiple books, book chapters, and articles in scientific journals on the subjects of entrepreneurship and regional development. He leads the Research Team "Innovation, Knowledge, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability," which is involved in competitive projects such as RETOS at the national level and is recognized as an “A” research team in the Basque Country. Dr. Peña has also been responsible for managing the GEM (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor) project in Spain and the national chapter of the international PSED project (Panel Study of Entrepreneurial Dynamics). He has served as a member of the Advisory Board of the "Inclusive Entrepreneurship" Project sponsored by the OECD and the European Commission from 2011 to 2014. Dr. Peña launched the "CRECER+" Business Angels network to connect different agents of the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the Basque Country and spur high-growth ventures.
