The multidisciplinary team at Deusto Physical TherapIker aims to conduct research, from a biopsychosocial approach, on various topics within the specialties of physiotherapy. At the same time, it also aims to integrate other professions that interact with health in its multiple fields. To this end, the aim is to collaborate closely with various national and international technological, health and research institutions at different levels.
Specifically, the following areas of research will be developed: - Neurosciences - Exercise and therapeutic physical activity in the population with chronic and/or acute pathologies - Frailty and active ageing - Personalised medicine and sustainability - Specific therapeutic interventions in Physiotherapy
Strategic objectives:
- Develop the research areas described above through specific research projects. - Apply for funding in order to be able to develop them. - Contact, expand and develop collaborative networks with different entities of national and/or international scientific interest. - Collaborate in research projects with other entities of national and/or international scientific interest. - Increase the number of PhDs and enrolments in doctoral programmes. - Achieve the indicators to be a recognised team in the next call.
Research areas: - Personalised medicine and health, e-health and sustainability of the healthcare system - Neurosciences in physiotherapy. - Physical activity and therapeutic exercise in the population with chronic and/or acute pathologies. - Assessment, approach and therapeutic interventions in physiotherapy. - Educational, technological and social innovation
