Tabakalera and Deusto Agreement

14 January 2026

San Sebastian Campus

The University of Deusto and the Tabakalera International Centre for Contemporary Culture have signed a framework collaboration agreement to join forces in the field of audiovisual creation and dissemination. The General Director of Tabakalera, Edurne Ormazabal, and the Rector of the University of Deusto, Juan José Etxeberria SJ, signed the partnership between the two institutions.

The main objective of this agreement is to define a framework for collaboration in research, creation and dissemination projects. The central focus of this collaboration will be the University of Deusto’s own Audiovisual Creation programme, linked to the Communication degree it is launching. In this space, both entities will jointly design and carry out training, dissemination and programming activities.

Student resources and practical experience

The agreement will allow Deusto students, especially those on the new degree, to use spaces and laboratories related to audiovisual creation at Tabakalera to carry out activities as part of their curriculum.

The agreement will last three years, after which it may be renewed by mutual consent. The signatories highlighted that this collaboration will strengthen opportunities for creative work and the development of new talent within San Sebastián’s cultural and university environment.
