Keio University Hospital
On 15 December, Olaia Lucas-Jiménez gave a guest lecture at Keio University Hospital (Tokyo), one of Japan’s leading academic medical institutions.
The lecture focused on Parkinson’s disease, with particular attention to the neurofunctional correlates of fatigue and cognitive decline, and their impact on patients’ quality of life and clinical outcomes. The session contributed to the ongoing academic and clinical debate on the neural mechanisms underlying these symptoms and their relevance for patient-centred care.
Following the lecture, Professor Michitaka Funayama highlighted the clarity, depth and significant clinical relevance of the presentation, particularly valuing its focus on clinical aspects that are often overlooked in routine practice.
This academic exchange represents an important step in an ongoing process of international collaboration, opening new opportunities for joint research, academic cooperation and knowledge transfer between Keio University Hospital and the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Deusto.
