Deusto researchers at the 4th International Congress on Human Rights and Globalisation

El DDHH Global se celebra en Tenerife

27 March 2023

Cristina de la Cruz, Encarnación La Spina and Asier Martínez Bringas, researchers at the Human Rights Institute, will participate in the 4th International Congress on Human Rights and Globalisation, organised by the University of La Laguna and the University of Seville, which will take place from 27 to 31 March in Tenerife. The congress will bring together experts from around the world and aims to discuss the responsibilities of institutions, business and citizens to address human rights injustices.

The aim of the congress is to rethink new vulnerabilities, precariousness and social gaps and to reflect on the new dimensions of fundamental rights in any of its themes: Human Rights in times of war, Human Rights after the pandemic, the invisible war in a globalised world, social rights and public policies and other questions about the history, foundations and human rights foundations or issues, among others.

The meeting will feature four plenary lectures by Daniel Innerarity, National Research Award and Ikerbasque Researcher, Cristina de la Cruz from the University of Deusto, David Sánchez from the University of Seville and Teresa López de la Vieja from the University of Salamanca. The first two days, on 27 and 28 March, the congress will be online, while from 29 to 31 March, it will be held in the Aula Magna César Manrique of the Aulario de Guajara. It is an activity of the R&D Project "Vulnerability, precariousness and social gaps. Towards a redefinition of fundamental rights?" by the Spanish Research Agency.
