The Joint Erasmus Mundus Master’s in International Humanitarian Action (NOHA) has once again been recognised as the best postgraduate programme in Spain in the field of Cooperation, according to El Mundo’s annual ranking of the 250 best Master’s programmes.

In the 2026 edition, the NOHA Master’s ranks first in the Social Sciences – Cooperation category, consolidating a track record of academic excellence and international leadership that places it among Europe’s leading references in humanitarian education. The programme had previously achieved this position in earlier years and continues to be a benchmark for those seeking to specialise in international humanitarian action.

El Mundo’s ranking selects the best postgraduate programmes in Spain after analysing more than a thousand degrees and evaluating 26 criteria related to demand for the programme, teaching quality, internationalisation, curriculum design, academic and professional outcomes of graduates, as well as the resources and services available to students.

The NOHA Master’s was selected by the European Commission in 2004 as one of the first Erasmus Mundus programmes and is currently delivered through an international consortium comprising eight European universities, in collaboration with 14 associated centres and organisations specialising in the humanitarian field.

This latest recognition reaffirms the University of Deusto’s commitment to excellence in education, with an international and interdisciplinary focus, aimed at preparing professionals capable of addressing global humanitarian challenges with rigour, responsibility and a strong grounding in human rights.
