Deusto International Research School (DIRS), the University of Deusto’s doctoral school, coordinated a Blended Intensive Program (BIP) on AI, aimed at international PhD students, entitled ‘From Data to Insight: ‘Statistics, Visual Analytics, and Generative AI’, delivered in a hybrid format, comprising two weeks of online learning and a third week of face-to-face teaching, from 6 to 10 July, at the University of Deusto, Bilbao campus.

A total of 16 doctoral researchers from seven European universities took part: the University of Zagreb, Malmö University, Ruhr University Bochum, the University of Lodz, the Agricultural University of Plovdiv, Linköping University and Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt.

The in-person training week also gave participants the opportunity to experience Basque culture first- hand, including a visit to the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and a food tour of the city.
