Would you like to broaden your knowledge of art, literature, philosophy, history, cinema…? The School of Citizenship-DeustoBide of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, with over 30 years of experience, provides a dedicated space through a comprehensive adult education programme, focused on the personal development and enjoyment of its students. Open to everyone, regardless of age, qualifications, or prior experience, this year’s course offerings are now available, and the University has organised two information sessions in Bilbao and San Sebastian to present them.
Over 160 people visited the Bilbao campus on 9 September to learn about the different options and new features of this year’s course offerings. These include the new programme in Culture and Society, which aims to offer a multidisciplinary university education; the monographic course Democracy in Dialogue; and the traditional Enjoying the Arts, designed to make the most of Bilbao's cultural offerings. All this, without forgetting the University Cultural Leisure courses, which cover a wide range of topics, including the American West, emotional intelligence, the history of the Belle Époque, contemporary art, the Second World War, the human body, and the portrayal of evil in film, among others.
The University Cultural Leisure programme is also offered in San Sebastian, thanks to the collaboration of the "la Caixa" Foundation. An information day was held on 10 September, which included a lecture by Professor of Sociology Jon Joseba Leonardo, entitled El transhumanismo como expresión del cambio de paradigma actual. During the event, the courses for the first and second semesters were presented, covering topics such as mental health prevention, women in art history, and life at court during the Middle Ages.
