The University of Deusto has reaffirmed its academic strength in the 2026 edition of the CYD Ranking, compiled by the Knowledge and Development Foundation (CYD). In this latest edition of the most comprehensive study of the Spanish university system, Deusto stands out with 18 high-performance indicators, the highest rating possible, reinforcing its position as a benchmark for educational excellence and engagement with society.

At institutional level, Deusto’s results are particularly strong in the Teaching and Learning dimension. The university records high performance indicators in critical dimensions such as the graduation rate (86% in bachelor's and 99% in master's degrees) and the academic success rate, which reaches 93% in bachelor's degrees. These data reflect a highly efficient educational model and student support that minimises school dropout rates.

With regard to International Orientation, the University continues to strengthen its global profile through its postgraduate programmes, performing particularly well in indicators such as degrees taught in foreign languages and the attraction of research talent, with a high proportion of doctoral theses completed by international students (32% overall).

Outstanding leadership in the field of Business Administration and Law

The subject-by-subject analysis places the University’s Business Management and Administration (BMA) and Law degrees among the best in Spanish higher education. In Business Management and Administration, Deusto is firmly established within the top 10 Spanish universities for studying this degree. This programme achieves 30 high-performance indicators, representing 57% of the total metrics assessed in this field. This degree stands out particularly across three dimensions: Teaching and Learning, due to strong academic success rates and training efficiency; International Orientation, reflected in its leading performance in student mobility, the number of placements abroad and the availability of courses taught in English; and strong graduate employment outcomes, with a 91% rate of permanent employment four years after graduation and highly competitive salary levels.

In addition, the University’s commitment to regional development and research is highlighted by its exceptional links with its local environment, achieving the highest rating in placements with local companies (with rates between 97% and 100%) and in securing regional research funding. Likewise, the institution’s research output is further consolidated, with more than 2,100 publications and a normalised impact above the world average.

Similarly, the ranking places Deusto within the select top 10 universities in Spain for studying Law. Specifically, this degree rises to leading positions in two key dimensions: it ranks 3rd in Spain in Teaching and Learning (assessing pass rates, low dropout rates and the proportion of practical credits), and is also among the top five universities in Graduate Employment, confirming the strong employability, quality of employment and salary levels of its law graduates.
