The Vice Rectorate for International Relations, representing the University of Deusto, participated in the Annual EAIE Conference and Exhibition held in Barcelona from 13 to 16 September. After being canceled for two years, the European Association for International Education (EAIE) organized this annual event that this year has gathered more than 6300 participants from 90 different countries across the world.
During these days, the University of Deusto had a booth, shared with the Universidad Pontificia Comillas, located at the Spanish stand, which was coordinated by the Servicio Español para la Internacionalización de la Educación (SEPIE). A space opened to all the event attendees that made Deusto visible in the international scene. Specifically, the Global Engagement Office team, represented by Ainhoa Jorquera and Marta Calvo, met with universities from 17 countries from Africa, East Asia, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia and Oceania.
Likewise, the different sessions of the conference offered the chance to listen to and exchange opinions about the learning, research and higher education processes of internationalization in the world.
In addition, Deusto was invited to participate in different parallel networking events. Among them, it is noteworthy the ESADE & IQS Reception organized for the International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU) attending the EAIE Conference and Exhibition.
The participation of the university of Deusto in this event is an opportunity to strengthen the relations with the partner universities as well as establishing to cooperate with new higher education institutions. Therefore, this meeting emphasizes the relevance of internationalization at the University.
