Professor Mikel Larreina together with student Guillermo Martín, from the Deusto Finance Programme, participated in the meeting on EU policies and regulation in the European Union representing Deusto Business School in Brussels from 16 to 18 May. This meeting in the Belgian capital is part of the IFI (Innovative Finance Inclusion) project in which the faculty has been involved since November 2020.
IFI brings together 6 European universities and the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development) and has as its main objective to teach sustainable finance to a group of Israeli universities. In this regard, it aims to align the Israeli higher education system with global changes and develop new capacities for inclusive social finance at three levels: the ecosystem and infrastructure, collaboration between academics and practitioners, and improved research and teaching.
For three days, DBS representatives have the opportunity to listen to the policies that the European Union is developing to achieve a more sustainable, green and fairer global economy. The value of Europeanism and the advantages of the European Union are also taught through lectures and workshops by representatives of large corporations and members of the Belgian parliament.
