Sofía García Torres is Assistant Professor at DBS-University of Deusto- Strategy Department, where she joined after developing her professional career in the textile-fashion sector, mainly in purchasing and strategy positions at multinational companies (Grupo Tendam, Inditex, Tally Weijl-Paris). She holds a PhD in Sustainability, Competitiveness, and Innovation from the same university and a University Expert Title in Social Responsibility and Innovation from the University of A Coruña-Inditex Sustainability Chair-UDC. Additionally, she completed an MSc in International Securities, Investment and Banking at the ISMA Centre of the University of Reading (UK), after earning a degree in Business Administration and Management from ICADE (Comillas Pontifical University). Her research is related to sustainability supply chain management, with a focus on the textile industry. Her work has been presented at various national and international seminars and conferences, and to date, her research has been published in the following academic journals indexed in WoS: Sustainability, Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, and Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management. Additionally, she has contributed to the monograph of Información Comercial Española, Revista de Economía (Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism) on Sustainability for Competitiveness.
