She holds a PhD in Social Psychology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, having been awarded a special prize for her thesis: ‘Encounters, tensions and challenges in building links between migrant women’s organisations and feminist groups in the Basque Country’. She also holds a diploma in Mental Health in Situations of Political Violence and Disasters from the Complutense University of Madrid. She is currently a lecturer in the Department of Psychology and Director of the Master’s Degree in Social Intervention Psychology at the University of Deusto. She is the Principal Investigator of the Deusto PsicoSocial Research Team, and her main areas of research are social exclusion and gender, the theory and practice of intersectionality, and gender-based violence.
