Economist and Ph.D. in Social and Human Sciences, with a solid track record as a serial entrepreneur, senior consultant, and director in public and private organisations at an international level. He has founded 15 companies in 4 countries, mainly in the EduTech, consulting, training, teambuilding and outdoor activities, nautical, and AgroTech sectors, taking on CEO, CMO, and COO roles in groups such as Shackleton, The Pulse, LivingCarbon.Tech, and ReVAgro.Tech. He combines a strong academic background (Ph.D., several international master’s degrees, and a degree in Economics and Business) with strategic experience in innovation, internationalisation, and team management. Since 2004, he has led intrapreneurship, innovation, collective talent, and organisational learning projects in more than 500 organisations —multinationals, SMEs, public sector bodies, and startups— across 6 countries. He has held high-responsibility positions such as General Director of the Bilbao Ría Maritime Museum, member of the Executive Committee of the International Congress of Maritime Museums (ICMM) in New York, and expert for the Spanish Ministry of Culture in the design of the National Museum of Maritime Archaeology-ARQVA. He has also served as deputy general director and commercial and marketing director in the security and marketing fields, as well as an accredited consultant for innovation and quality management programmes promoted by the Basque Government and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia. In the academic field, he is the creator and sole owner of the SHAPE© Method, a methodology for developing innovation, entrepreneurship, and intrapreneurship processes that has been implemented in more than 500 organisations in Spain and Latin America. Since 1994, he has built an extensive university teaching career at institutions such as the University of Deusto, UPV/EHU, UOC, Universidad Europea, Universidad Autónoma de Chile, and Universidad Católica del Norte (Chile), taking part in master’s and executive programmes on innovation, entrepreneurship, strategy, internationalisation, and systems thinking. His teaching portfolio covers areas such as innovation, entrepreneurship, business models, project management, and international economics and business. He is the author of a doctoral thesis focused on teams, systems thinking, and organisational performance, as well as numerous publications in journals, books, and outlets such as Telos and The Conversation. He has a book on the SHAPE© Method in the process of publication with McGraw-Hill and has received distinctions such as Chile’s National Innovation Award granted to Shackleton. In addition, he has a clearly international profile, with advanced command of several languages and professional qualifications in the fields of yachting and diving, which reinforce his connection to the maritime and exploration worlds.
