She holds a Diploma in Social Work from ICESB, a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Barcelona (UB), and a Master’s Degree in Sexology from the Camilo José Cela University (UCJC). Her first contact with sex workers was through the research project of the DAPHNE Programme, “The Sex Trade in Catalonia: The Labour Context of Sex Work” (2000–01). Since then, she has developed her professional career as a social worker in two NGOs specialising in direct intervention with people engaged in prostitution and in the identification of potential victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation (El Lloc de la Dona in Barcelona and, currently, the AUKERA Programme – ARRATS Association in Donostia). She has also taken part in several research projects, including: “Working Conditions in the New Prostitution Industry: Hostess Clubs” (ICD, 2002); “Labour Relocation of Sex Workers in the Raval Neighbourhood of Barcelona” (SURT, 2006); “Socio-legal Analysis of Trafficking for the Purpose of Forced Prostitution: Tools for Intervention from a Rights-Based Perspective” (Genera, 2011); and “Study on Prostitution in Irun” (Irun City Council, 2022).
