begoña garate andikoetxea

Begoña Garate Andikoetxea holds a PhD in Applied Medicine and Biomedicine from the University of Navarra. She previously earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, specializing in Electronics, from Mondragon University. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Deusto, where she teaches in the field of biomedical engineering. Her research has focused on two main areas. On the one hand, she has worked on the biomechanical analysis and characterization of bone tissue. On the other hand, her research has focused on the field of neuroscience, particularly Parkinson's disease, with a special interest in the optimization of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequences and the development of imaging biomarkers for the diagnosis and monitoring of the disease.
