Dr. Deitze Otaduy is European Projects Manager at DeustoTech institute. She coordinates the FOODRUS H2020 project, An innovative collaborative circular food system to reduce food waste and losses in the agri-food chain. Project management of, both national and international, large collaborative R&D projects in the agri-food sector, circular economy and sustainability group. She has participated in many European projects and in the last years she has focused her career towards project management, both national and European. She is the representative in clusters, congresses, events, national and European platforms, related to these areas and photonic technologies. Deitze investigates new fields of application in the agri-food sector for the different technologies researched and developed in DeustoTech. She holds a PhD in Science and Technology, focused in “Biosensing for disease monitoring, development of a LSPR biosensor, based on scalable nanofabrication techniques, for Circulating Tumour Cells detection”. She holds a MSc in Applied Photonics from Salford University and a MSc from the University of Cantabria. For more than 15 years she has been working as optical design engineer for optical sensor device design and development. She was the coordinator of the Agri-Food industry at Tekniker technological centre. She was in charge of monitoring the global indicators and sector reports, which allow identifying aspects such as: sector turnover, growth and evolution, location, competition, etc. She was responsible for identifying the needs and technologies required in the agri-food sector and transferring them to the different Tekniker technological units or solutions to provide the best solution possible.. In constant training, she is aware of gender inequality in STEM careers and professions, she collaborates with the Inspira STEAM project as a mentor for the promotion of scientific-technological vocations among girls and boys in primary school.
