Fernando Cortés holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from École Centrale de Nantes (officially recognised as equivalent to the Industrial Engineering degree) and a PhD from Mondragon University. He is accredited as a Full Professor by ANECA. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Deusto, where he teaches at the Bilbao campus and serves as Director of the Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering. He teaches subjects in the field of Applied Mechanics at both undergraduate and graduate levels (Applied Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Thermal Engineering, among others). In addition, he has undertaken several academic management responsibilities, most notably serving as Department Director for nine years. He combines his teaching duties with research activities and is a member of the Applied Mechanics research group, officially recognised by the Basque Government.
