Specialist Pathways

The SEOS Joint Master’s is an annual programme consisting of four semesters, delivered over two years (24 months). All Master's students start their studies at the Ruhr-University Bochum (Germany). From the second semester onwards, the Master’s programme offers three specialist pathways, allowing students to deepen their knowledge in their chosen field of interest

  • Specialist Pathway 1: Specialisation in Educational Perspectives
  • Specialist Pathway 2: Specialisation in Organisational Perspectives
  • Specialist Pathway 3: Specialisation in Social-Scientific Perspectives

Thesestudy pathways differ in the following ways

  1. By disciplinary area (educational, organisational, or social perspectives)
  2. By mobility (either virtual or physical).

After the first semester, taught jointly at the Bochum campus, Pathway 1 is primarily offered online, with the option of an in-person experience at the Bochum, Cork, or Zagreb campuses

Pathway 2 is delivered at the Koç University campus in Istanbul, in collaboration with Erasmus University Rotterdam. Within pathway 2, students can choose between two options (Option 2A and Option 2B). Pathway 3 is primarily offered online, but provides the option to study in person at the Bochum, Cork, or Oulu campuses.

In the fourth and final semester, students must complete a Master's dissertation, which can be undertaken at any of the eight participating SEOS universities across Europe.
