The Biscay Football Federation and the University of Deusto have signed a collaboration agreement that, from the current academic year, will enable graduates in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (CAFyD) to complement their university education with football coaching courses.
The course will be delivered through an off-site classroom at the University of Deusto, facilitating coordination and compatibility between the two training pathways. “This agreement between the two organisations marks the beginning of a collaboration that will soon lead to new projects and shared challenges,” said a pleased Federation President Iñaki Gómez Mardones.
For her part, Isabel Rubio Florido, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Sport, welcomed the agreement reached to facilitate access for students on the Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences to training leading to UEFA licences. “This partnership will enable this course to be incorporated into students’ regular timetables, in a way that is compatible with their university studies and complements the degree programme itself with a specific focus on professional development within the field of football. For the University of Deusto, this agreement represents a significant step forward in linking university education with professional development in sport, enabling students to broaden their training and, during their studies, work towards accreditations and qualifications recognised by the relevant sports federations.”
The agreement also strengthens collaboration between the University and the Federation, bringing the professional world of sport closer to university education and creating new development opportunities for students.
