Bringing economics closer to citizens, businesses, entrepreneurs and workers, as well as translating major figures into everyday realities, is the aim of the Basque Economic Forum, an initiative of the Basque Government that was inaugurated on 29 May in the University of Deusto Library. This first edition focused on analysing the current economic situation and creating a space for reflection and debate for the business community, with the aim of becoming a benchmark in the Basque economic sphere.
The event included a conversation between the Second Vice Lehendakari and Minister for Economy, Labour and Employment of the Basque Government, Mikel Torres, and the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Economy, Trade and Enterprise, Carlos Cuerpo, in which they discussed the “European and Basque economic and financial situation”, with particular attention to the impact of Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) funds on the social and business fabric.
The Rector of Deusto, Juan José Etxeberria, and the Dean of Deusto Business School, Macarena Cuenca, welcomed the political authorities at the entrance to the Library and accompanied Minister Carlos Cuerpo, who took the opportunity during the visit to sign the Deusto Business School Book of Honour.
