Carried out with the support of the Basque Institute of Finance, the Orkestra report shows that the Basques companies’ economic and financial evolution is positive. The study also demonstrates the existence of different realities varying in function of the business size and sector of activity, implying thus the adoption of different and adapted strategies and solutions.
The analysis of the companies’ accounts shows that the Basque company has a higher percentage of equity on the balance sheet than the Spanish companies and lower weight in the financial debt. However, they still have difficulties to increase their profitability and have not yet met 2008 figures. The report also highlights a reduction on the levels of financial debt and the associated costs.
