The University of Deusto proudly secures its place among the top ten universities in Spain in the 2025 CYD Ranking, produced by the Knowledge and Development Foundation (CYD). This recognition highlights Deusto’s excellence across multiple high-performance indicators at both national and regional levels, reinforcing its status as a leading academic institution in the Basque Country.

In a ranking that evaluates 82 universities across Spain, Deusto shares the top positions with prestigious institutions such as the Autonomous University of Barcelona, University of Navarra, Pompeu Fabra University, and Carlos III University of Madrid. The study assesses university performance across five key dimensions: teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, international outlook, and contribution to regional development.

In the overall ranking, Deusto remains among the top 10 universities in Spain and reaffirms its leadership within the Basque Autonomous Community (CAPV). The university achieved 21 high-performance indicators, 13 intermediate-performance indicators, and 4 low-performance indicators out of a total of 38 evaluated. This year, two new indicators were added in the knowledge transfer category: impact on public policy and publications related to the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Basque institution achieved its strongest results in the teaching and learning dimension—securing 7 high-performance indicators out of 9—and in international outlook, with 5 high-performance indicators out of 7.

Computer Engineering: 1st place in the Basque Country      

In the field of Computer Engineering, Deusto ranks fourth nationally among 55 universities, following closely after the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, and Carlos III University of Madrid. At the regional level, it holds the top position in the Basque Country. At the regional level, it holds the top position in the Basque Country. The results in this discipline show 20 high-performance indicators and 9 intermediate-performance indicators out of a total of 45 evaluated.

Deusto’s achievements in Research stand out in particular, sharing first place with universities such as Pompeu Fabra, Rovira i Virgili, Salamanca, and Zaragoza. Its contribution to regional development is also notable, with shared leadership alongside the Universitat Ramon Llull and the University of Santiago de Compostela.

According to the Rector, these results confirm and endorse the quality of Deusto’s university project and its educational model, which is committed to excellence across all areas, including teaching, research, and student learning.
