Bilbao Campus San Sebastian Campus Madrid Headquarters
The Society of Jesus has opened a new building in Madrid, the Arrupe Campus. This space, which represents a further step in the collaboration between the Universidad Pontificia Comillas and the University of Deusto, will house differentiated postgraduate programmes from both universities, as well as Advantere School of Management, a centre founded jointly by these two universities.
The superior general of the Society of Jesus, Arturo Sosa, SJ, visited the building last week, accompanied by the rectors of both universities, as well as part of their teams and the Board of Directors of Advantere. Blessing. The official inauguration of the Arrupe Campus is scheduled for next November.
With 8000 square meters and located on 39 Mateo Inurria Street, the Arrupe Campus, which is named after Pedro Arrupe, Father General of the Jesuits between 1965 and 1983, is now fully operational, coinciding with the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year. The building, newly built and located on land owned by the Society of Jesus, responds to the expansion of the activities carried out by the institutions it accommodates.
This space houses the new postgraduate and lifelong learning schools of the Universidad Pontificia Comillas, the new headquarters of Deusto Business School in Madrid, focused on its Executive Education division, and Advantere School of Management, a school founded by Deusto and Comillas, which counts with Georgetown University as a strategic academic partner.
The business schools moving to the Arrupe Campus are complementary and share the same values and philosophy, which come from the principles of the Society of Jesus. While Deusto Business School in Madrid aims to train executives throughout their professional lives, Advantere School of Management is oriented towards educating professionals without prior experience, with a very international focus, and the new Comillas training centre offers high quality training to professionals who seek to continue learning and evolving throughout their lives.
Deusto Business School
Deusto Business School will take up the top floor of the Arrupe Campus and will have a 500 m2 terrace surrounding the building. Deusto Business School celebrated its first centenary in 2016, being the oldest business school in Spain. It is a benchmark in training business leaders and graduating entrepreneurs.
Its alumni are in the most important companies in the world or leading successful start-ups. It has three areas of differentiation that permeate its entire educational offer: digital strategy, humanism and competitiveness, entrepreneurship and innovation.
