On 9 May, Deusto hosted a conference titled “The Challenges of Digital and Technological Transformation in Education,” bringing together academics from various universities. During the event, the research findings from the Aristos Campus Mundus (ACM) programme were presented.
Professors and researchers Josep Petchamé and Ignasi Iriondo from Ramon Llull University, along with Oihane Korres, Garazi Azanza, and Jessica Paños from the University of Deusto, took part in this session dedicated to ACM — the strategic alliance of Deusto, Pontificia Comillas, Ramon Llull, and Loyola universities aimed at enhancing academic, teaching, and research excellence.
Following this, Linda Castañeda, Professor and Researcher in Educational Technology at the University of Murcia, delivered the keynote lecture, which was followed by the first series of presentations on the topic “Challenges of Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education”. This session featured Pablo Garaizar, a Deusto Engineering professor with over 20 years of experience in applying technology to learning, and Charo Fernández Aguirre, a lecturer at Nebrija University involved in the “Master’s in ICT for Education and Digital Learning”.
In the second and final session, titled “Teaching Innovation and Digitalisation in University Classrooms,” contributions were made by Iker Villanueva Ruiz, researcher and lecturer in Physiotherapy at the University of Deusto, and Mercé Gisbert Cervera, expert in Educational Technologies at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili.
