The University of Deusto and the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Ube College in Japan have signed a framework collaboration agreement to promote academic cooperation and strengthen relations in the field of education and research between the two institutions. The agreement, signed by Deusto’s Rector, Juan José Etxeberria, and NIT’s President, Noboru Kanedera, provides for the exchange of students, academic and administrative staff, as well as the joint organisation of training activities, research projects, and symposia.

NIT is a Japanese higher education institution specialising in technical education, located in Yamaguchi. It is part of the national system of technical colleges (kōsen) and is noted for its practical focus in Engineering and its international outlook, with exchange programmes and collaborations with universities across Asia and Europe. Its consolidated track record in educational and technological cooperation makes it a reference partner for the University of Deusto in the development of new mobility and academic collaboration initiatives.

With an initial term of five years, this agreement reinforces Deusto's commitment to the creation of global alliances that promote teaching excellence, research and intercultural learning, as well as opening up new opportunities for scientific cooperation.
