The Faculty of Engineering of the University of Deusto presented, for the first time, the Mexican edition of Ada Byron Prize in Mexico City.
Organised by the University of Deusto and sponsored by Microsoft, the Ada Byron prize recognises the work of remarkable Spanish women in Science and Technology, with the objective of fostering the participation of women in such areas. This year, in partnership with the University Ibero Puebla and the University Ibero México, the prize is also awarding a Mexican woman.
Awardees from the last editions of Ada Byron prize include Montserrat Meya, expert in artificial intelligence and automatic translation; Asunción Gómez, researcher in semantic technologies; Nuria Olivar, R&D Director; Regina Llopis, who holds a PhD from California Berkeley in Mathematics applied to Artificial Intelligence; and María Ángeles Martín Prats, Professor at the University of Sevilla in the Department of Electronic Engineering.
