The University of Deusto continues to strengthen its strategic commitment to collaboration and networking with the universities of the Society of Jesus. Within this framework of global collaboration, the Rector, Juan José Etxeberria, and the Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations, Javier Arellano, visited the Beirut and Tripoli campuses of the Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth (USJ) on 29 and 30 January.

This initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to strengthening ties with Jesuit universities around the world, a commitment that is particularly evident in the strengthening of partnerships in both teaching and research. The aim is to foster a shared knowledge ecosystem that enables a more effective response to global challenges in line with the values of the Jesuit network.

During the visit, working meetings were held with university officials and heads of the various faculties to explore new avenues for collaboration. Furthermore, the discussions with USJ students proved particularly valuable, as they shared their thoughts on interfaith coexistence and entrepreneurship, amongst other topics of mutual interest.
