    ABOUT THE COURSE

Although the representation of women and girls in the higher education system has increased considerably in the last decades, sex segregation remains a feature of contemporary educational systems. As with other areas of life, education and career aspirations are gendered. In other words, they are directly influenced by the socially constructed and imposed gender roles that maintain women and girls away from certain fields of knowledge. This course will explore the trends and the future of gender segregation and distribution.
