University of Deusto and ASEAN University Network offer virtual seminars for universities from Southeast Asia

Deusto Internacional and ASEAN University Network (AUN) organize a series of webinars about distance teaching methodologies addressed to higher education institutions from Southeast Asia. The main objective is collaborate with these partner universities in order to provide them the necessary tools to offer high quality education to students in this new education context due to the COVID19 worldwide crisis.

University of Deusto Rector, Jose María Guibert, and AUN Executive Director, Choltis Dhirathiti, opened the first webinar organized on 22nd April. Focused on Remote Attendance Learning Model, the Vice- Rector for International Relations of University of Deusto, Alex Rayon, was the webinar speaker. The session gathered more than 1.500 colleagues from Higher Education institutions from Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam.

This activity strengthens the existing inter institutional collaboration between University of Deusto and ASEAN University Network and represents the first cooperation activity between both institutions in the field of distance learning. Through this joint initiative, in the words of the University of Deusto Rector, UD and AUN engage in “the new renaissance of education in the world” and contribute towards educating and teaching in the new educational paradigm.
