On 20 January, the University of Deusto hosted Dr Domingo Blázquez, Professor at INEF Barcelona and President of the Global Network for Physical Education and Sport, for a working session held on the Bilbao campus. The event, organised by the Faculty of Education and Sport, was structured around two working sessions designed to integrate the academic perspective with institutional management.

The first session focused on school Physical Education, addressing key areas such as educational quality, assessment, teacher training, and the gender perspective. This session, consisting of expert lecturers, marked an initial milestone in deepening the diagnosis and analysis of the profession within the Basque context.

In the second session, the discussion shifted to the fields of public administration and research. This session included the participation of the heads of school sport from the three Provincial Councils (Biscay, Gipuzkoa, and Araba), who exchanged perspectives with the lead researchers from the University of Deusto. The aim of this strand was to strengthen collaboration between government institutions and research teams to optimise the sports model in the Basque Country.
