As every 25 November, the University of Deusto joins in commemorating the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. On this occasion, the academic centre reaffirms its commitment to genuine equality between women and men and to the eradication of all forms of gender-based violence. Education, research and social action are key tools for preventing such violence and promoting a society founded on respect, equity and human rights.
This week, the Bilbao and San Sebastian campuses will host awareness-raising, training and reflection activities, organised by the Equality Unit in collaboration with Amnesty International and students from the International Relations degree, as well as initiatives led by other departments, with the aim of fostering awareness and engagement across the entire university community.
To highlight this commitment, this Tuesday 25 November, gatherings took place on the Bilbao campus (Ceremonial Hall cloister) and the Donostia–San Sebastián campus (Larramendi Building Hall). This event provided an opportunity for coming together and expressing a shared stance against all forms of violence and discrimination. The University is, and must continue to be, a space of equality, respect and freedom for everyone.
