28 October 2025

Bilbao Campus

The University of Deusto was the meeting point for the UNIJES Entrepreneurship Peer Group, which brought together representatives of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation areas of Spanish Jesuit universities on 20 and 21 October at the Bilbao campus.

The meeting, led by Garbiñe Henry, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Deusto, aimed to strengthen collaboration between institutions, share experiences and design joint projects to boost the university entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The event coincided with the celebration of B-Venture, the largest entrepreneurship event in northern Spain, which this year celebrated its tenth anniversary. The participants attended the event, which brings together more than a hundred startups, investors and industry players, and were able to learn first-hand about the latest trends in innovation and business development.

During the meeting, the representatives of the different Jesuit universities worked on planning joint actions for the academic year and visited DeustoKabi, the space dedicated to entrepreneurship on the Bilbao campus. They also met with Álvaro de la Rica, Vice-Rector for Academic Policy and Digital Transformation, who highlighted the key role of collaboration between universities in fostering creativity and innovation.

The event was attended by Roser Grau Bartolomé (Tech Factory, IQS – Ramon Llull University), M. Paz Gil Segura and Oriana Circelli (Comillas Emprende, Comillas Pontifical University), and Mercedes Pérez Millán (Loyola Initiatives, Loyola University Andalusia).

The meeting concluded with an institutional photo and a shared commitment to continue strengthening innovation and entrepreneurship from a transformative and socially responsible perspective.
