El Confidencial has presented its ranking of the Most Innovative Universities, where it has selected the 10 universities that are leading innovation in education and that have most developed their learning models. Deusto is ranked among the top 10 in Spain, namely in 6th place. The ranking measures factors such as the integration of technologies and the adaptation of their degrees and the promotion of innovation and research, which includes the transfer of knowledge and technology to the business sector through collaborations and agreements with companies.
The ranking also assesses joint projects developed in response to market challenges and the alignment of degrees with the needs of the labour market through the employability rate. It takes into account the global outreach, where the attraction of students and world-class lecturers is a key element, the academic staff and the facilities that each university makes available to its students to enhance their education.
In this regard, the ranking has assessed positively aspects such as Deusto's research programmes that promote the transfer of knowledge to industry and its international outreach. In the field of innovation and technology, special mention should be made of Deustotech, a research institute that focuses on combining advanced knowledge and developing projects and solutions to boost industrial sustainability, and which works in areas such as artificial intelligence and computer systems. The availability of business incubators and centres to promote the innovation resulting from their research projects was rated very positively. Deusto has also stood out for its up-to-date vision of digital business models.
