The University of Deusto has successfully concluded the 2025 edition of its Deusto International Staff Program / Blended Intensive Program . Focused on the theme "Interculturality: A Cornerstone in Higher Education," the event brought together 27 participants from 15 universities across 13 countries from Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe. The program, aimed at professionals from higher education institutions, took place during June 2025, combining an on-campus week of work at the Bilbao and San Sebastián campuses with two virtual sessions.
Throughout the various sessions, participants had the opportunity to explore how to effectively integrate interculturality at all levels within a university. Critical dimensions of interculturality were addressed through diverse presentations, interactive workshops, and team-based activities. The program thus served as a space to discuss challenges, share proposals, and deepen understanding of university staff's intercultural competencies, their integration into the curriculum and the classroom, as well as the development of these competencies among students.
Furthermore, the program has strengthened cooperation among the participating universities and laid the groundwork for future collaborations in higher education.
