The University of Deusto has been ranked 11th best national university in terms of the number of excellence indicators, according to the results published today, 21 June, by the U-Multirank ranking. This benchmark ranking, promoted by the European Commission, analyses more than 2,200 universities in 96 countries, 76 of which are Spanish, covering 5 dimensions: teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation and contribution to regional development.
The University of Deusto has been improving its positioning and it has obtained 11 "Very good" and 11 "Good" indicators in this year’s ranking. Among the most highly rated aspects of the ranking are increasing student mobility and investment in digital education. Research output in open access, as well as knowledge transfer and the relationship with organisations and other institutions are also rated as excellent. Deusto also stands out for the percentage of Bachelor's and Master's graduates who manage to work in their nearby geographical areas.
European and national benchmark in IT
This year the U-Multirank ranking has evaluated the Computer Engineering field, an area in which Deusto is ranked 5th best Spanish university and among the top 20 universities in the European Union.
In the top 5, according to CyD
These good results add to those published last week by the Ranking of the Knowledge and Development Foundation, CyD, where the University of Deusto was placed in the group of the 5 best universities in Spain out of a total of 79 evaluated.
According to Rector José María Guibert, these rankings confirm the University of Deusto's good track record in improving its performance in key areas of the university's mission, thanks to the deployment of the policies established in the university's successive strategic plans. In this regard, "quality in academic, teaching and research activity, employability and entrepreneurship, the international dimension, as well as social impact and service to society, are key elements that guide our commitment and contribution", he pointed out.
