Last 26 March, writer and scientist Dennis Meadows gave a lecture at the University of Deusto entitled 'The Limits to Growth: The 30-year Update'. This event was organised by the Basque Group of the Club of Rome and UNESCO Etxea, in collaboration with the Faculty of Law and El Correo newspaper. The North American writer presented different potential scenarios for the future, whilst at the same time he examined a number of energy variables regarding economic growth, population and the environment from a global perspective on sustainability. His latest book 'The Limits to Growth: The 30-year update' is an update of a report to the Club of Rome in 1972, known as Meadows Report. This research work had a profound influence on the economic and environmental thinking at the time.
