Participants in the event also included Victoriano Susperregui, Chairman of ELKARGI, S.G.R., José M Guibert, Vice-rector of the University of Deusto, Markel Olano, General Deputy for Gipuzkoa, Víctor Urcelay, Dean of ESTE faculty and Jesús Alberdi, Chief Executive of ELKARGI S.G.R., along with a large number of representatives from the Basque business and financial world.
Nearly 400 students of the Expert Diploma in Financial Management of SMEs have graduated since 1996. In 1995, a strategic alliance was created between both organisations, based on the knowledge and awareness shared between ESTE-University of Deusto and ELKARGI S.G.R., and which gave rise to this University Postgraduate course.This Postgraduate course in Financial Management of SMEs is the only one of its kind arising from the real connection between the University and the corporate world. And it is specifically targeted at executives from small and medium enterprises.
This will be the last Postgraduate course in Financial Management of SMEs run by ESTE-ELKARGI S.G.R, which is in its 13th year now.In February 2009, a new stage will begin with the start of the 1st Executive Programme in Financial Management (PEDF), an updated and improved version that is born out of a strategic alliance between these renowned institutions:Deusto Business School, ELKARGI S.R.G. and ESADE Business School.
In the context of the new demands and rules, the aim is to explore the key issues related to the current and future economic and financial management through an eminently practical approach, while at the same time it is supported by the most advanced theoretical fundamentals that allow to develop this global outlook.Therefore, the programme provides the necessary tools and skills to those professionals who wish to meet new professional challenges. The programme will be delivered at the San Sebastian campus of the University of Deusto, and it will start next February 2009.
During this event, both Fernando de la Iglesia Viguiristi s.j., Vice-Rector of the San Sebastian campus, University of Deusto and the Chairman of ELKARGI S.G.R., Victoriano Susperregui, highlighted the importance and positive development that this Postgraduate course has had in the university and corporate contexts during these thirteen years. In addition, they stated their determination to renew and strengthen their cooperation thanks to it, adapting it to meet the new demands established by the increasingly competitive contexts of education and business.
