Developing and training our social skills and assertiveness can facilitate our personal relationships in both the personal and academic spheres, and can also help us in our career development.
This practical workshop will enable participants to:
- Understand the aspects that help/hinder good group performance.
- Discuss the importance of social skills, empathy and assertiveness in interpersonal relationships.
- Develop specific abilities according to their personal needs and priorities.
The workshop examples will focus on the following situations:
- Basic social skills (introducing oneself, asking for help, convincing others, apologising, etc.)
- Skills related to the recognition and expression of emotions (recognising one's own and others' emotions, expressing affection, showing disagreement, asking for explanations, etc.)
- Positive coping skills (sharing ideas, calming down, negotiating, responding to banter, coping with peer pressure, preparing for a difficult conversation, coping if the group pushes you away, etc.)
The workshop requires a weekly commitment of approximately 2 hours.
