On 04 March 2020, Dr. Kathryn Schmitz, president of the American College of Sports Medicine and professor at Penn State Cancer Institute presented at the University of Deusto the masterclass “Exercise is medicine ® : the role and future of the physical activity professionals (international and USA perspectives)”.
Dr. Schmitz is a prestigious researcher focused on the cancer control. Her research encompasses the role of physical activity in the prevention and etiology of obesity-related cancers, along with the usefulness of activity for rehabilitation and health promotion in cancer survivors of all cancers. She collaborates closely with Deusto’s researcher Aitor Coca from the Faculty of Psychology and Education and member of the Ageing and Wellbeing Interdisciplinary Research Platform.
