Within the framework of EVOLUTION, a cross-border project on child protection systems and their impact on children and adolescents, a meeting was held with the participation of all project partners. The first results of this research were presented, analysing how young people under care experience life in the territories of Gipuzkoa and the French Atlantic Pyrenees.
During the session, and in front of more than 60 attendees, the progress of two key stands of the study was presented. The first strand, “Social Networks and their Educational Impact”, examined how young people under care use social networks, the risks they perceive, and how these platforms influence their relationships with educational and social professionals. In the second strand, “Educational Pathways”, factors that facilitate or hinder the continuity of studies among young people under care were identified.
In addition, two beneficiaries shared their testimonies, offering their personal views on the difficulties and opportunities they have encountered along the way. A video presentation of the EVOLUTION project was also shown, with interventions by the partners and institutional representatives from both sides of the border. Video
The next meeting will take place in January in San Sebastian, where the preliminary results of the third research area will be presented: "the life experiences of young people under care". This phase aims to rethink the processes and adapt intervention practices based on the experiences of the young people themselves.
